Universities in Florida
Florida colleges and universities offer two and four year degree programs. Examples of traditional colleges and universities in Florida include Eckerd College, Embry Riddle University, Florida State University, Jacksonville University, New College of Florida, Ringling College of Art and Design, Rollins College, St. Thomas University, Stetson University, University of Florida, and University of Tampa. Generally, these colleges require completion of a liberal arts core curriculum in addition to coursework in a major field of study, and offer majors in subject areas (English, history, philosophy, Spanish, etc.) which may not be designed to prepare students for a particular career as well as majors (accounting, business, pre-law, education, journalism, engineering) which are career specific.
