Below, you will find a list of HBCU's, with links, by state. The
colleges and universities in each state are listed in
alphabetical order. As you will see, there are HBCU's in
Alabama, Arkansas, California, Delaware, District of Columbia,
Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi,
Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South
Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
North Carolina has the greatest number of Historically Black
Colleges and Universities with 11. Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina,
each with 8 HBCU's, are tied for second place, and Mississippi and
Texas, at 7, share third place.
