Universities in Iowa
Iowa colleges and universities offer two and four year degree programs. Examples of traditional colleges and universities in Iowa include Briar Cliff College, Coe College, Cornell College, Drake University, Grinnell College, Iowa State University, University of Iowa, Waldorf College, and William Penn University. Generally, these colleges require completion of a liberal arts core curriculum in addition to coursework in a major field of study, and offer majors in subject areas (English, history, philosophy, Spanish, etc.) which may not be designed to prepare students for a particular career as well as majors (accounting, business, pre-law, education, journalism, engineering) which are career specific.
