Universities in North Carolina
North Carolina colleges and universities offer two and four year degree programs. North Carolina is the home of many fine colleges and universities, including Campbell University, Chowan College, Davidson College, Duke University, Guilford College, Meredith College, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, Salem College, University of North Carolina, and Warren Wilson College. Generally, these colleges require completion of a liberal arts core curriculum in addition to coursework in a major field of study, and offer majors in subject areas (English, history, philosophy, Spanish, etc.) which may not be designed to prepare students for a particular career as well as majors (accounting, business, pre-law, education, journalism, engineering) which are career specific.
